Bait has customers worldwide from Beijing in China to Nevada in the United States. Here is a small presentation of some of our international customers and how you often get to think a bit different in relation to different cultures.
In the western world, both book covers and digital single covers are somewhat abstract and creative in their transformation, while in the older days they focused more on the artists themselves. In addition, far more people ask for a simpler cover as these often only appear as icons on streaming sites such as Spotify and the like.
In the past year, we have produced eight single covers. In Norway, Hawaii and Beijing. While Hawaii asked for modern and creative covers, and Norway asked for a rather local and family-friendly style, Beijing asked for the covers to focus on the artist himself. This makes our international work both challenging and extremely varied and exciting.
In Nevada, USA, a real estate agent wanted a square shaped logo, and several different designs were presented to give the customer ideas on how to move on. She asked for a house and a river as a starting point, but it soon became clear to us that living in Norway gives us a quite different idea of what a house is.
As it looked homely and visually pleasing, we added smoke from the chimney, to which the customer asked – why did you make a cabin in the woods. They were in no way used to keeping the fire going in the winter. And so, we removed it.
